Watched my first Studio Ghibli films last night— Nausicaa and Howl’s Moving Castle! Amazing stuff. Also, I love these.

I had no clue what the show was about but it was on BBC America one day so I gave it a go. My thoughts were something like:

• Wait, what the actual fuck is happening?
• Sonic screwdriver? Probe?
• Doctor? What is your real name? Whats with the bow tie? And why are you being such a dick?
• So that blue box thing can fly or something?

And now that I’ve seen all of new Who and re-watch this episode my thoughts are all:

• fakldjsf;laksjdf;lk why?!
• Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey!
• Girl, that man volunteered to wait 2000 years for you just to keep you safe, cut him some slack!
• Oh, NOW I get why you were being such a dick. Avoiding universe-shattering paradoxes is as good a reason as any I suppose. Don’t wanna make Sexy explode or something. (again)

It’s just funny how you can watch the same thing and have such an emotional reaction the second time ‘round. When you actually understand what is happening and ship the ponds so hard it hurts.
